Gaudy colored and striped RV's

Why is it so popular to design trailers and motor homes with huge, bright stripes and decals. I call it gaudy and over the top. I don't know how many people would want just a solid color RV but why not more subtle. I equate it to the old days of cars which were covered in chrome, stripes and fins and many of us started to "customize" to get a less flashy look, then the European look became popular with little or no chrome, fewer ornaments, black bumpers and a lean mean look. I think we could use some of that with RV's ??

  • I'm for simple too but I'm not sure if I could take a plain white box. I know at Lazy Daze they were concerned about eliminating the front cabover windows because they thought it may look too much like a bread truck. They finally did and molded in a bit of design in the cabover section. I guess I'm saying I prefer it the way it is. even thought I tend to be with you on simplicity.

Options on the decals would be good. Especially that some of them don't seem to hold up well. Less decals/striping would be best on RVs that had nice lines or shapes-most don't.
  • I'm right with you. Those gaudy lookin' rigs scream out, "look at me"!!! There's no accounting for taste.
