what is the best generator to buy if I need to run 13 500 A/C?
I purchased a used 2023 Thor RV with 3000 miles on it in February. My Cummins Onan generator has 22 hours on it, but it’s in its 3rd year of use (they count back to their shipment to Thor). It worked for 2 hours after i purchased it. I was just told by Cummins that it is the Fuel Pump and fuel injector and it is not covered under their major parts 3rd year warranty and that I’m going to need to buy a new $8000.00 generator. I’ve heard great things about these generators, but mine died with 22 hours on it and the company does NOT consider something that is more expensive to replace than the generator costs a MAJOR part. I would will NEVER deal with this company again. Try to find a company that actually cares about the product they produce and avoid this in your RV.

The db & weights are as listed on the Supergen website.

I'm a fan of Champion generators in consideration of performance, cost & customer service. Although the Honda & Yamaha are the most popular, I believe Champion deserves it's place with the big two.
I agree with others that have mentioned the weight factor. Two, 2000 watt Champion units may be best, at only 57 lbs each. They are rated at 53db at a distance of 23'
I don't know where you got the 53db at a distance of 23' from.
On Champion Power Equipments web site their Model #73534i 2000W inverter generator has a db rating of 68db at 23 feet and a dry weight of 48.5 lbs

It is cheaper to go to an inexpensive campground than to run a generator 24/7 for air conditioning.
I have boondocked all over this good country, and I've seen very few fellow campers running air with a generator. They're usually outside when it's 90°+.
It's a nice idea, and it works, it's just that for the noise, the smell and the hassle of gas, folks just don't do it.
