Between trying to store them flat for traveling and the time to set them up and break them down I just got plum tired of it all. When I pull in after a long day driving the RV I want to eat not spend my time setting up!
That's what we've found after doing our first 3 week road trip. Just a real pain to drag out and setup every day or two. We won't use the cooktop inside for cooking meat or things that will splatter and smell up the inside and except for one layover of a few days, so ended up eating out somewhere all the time.....
miredracer,
I can have my Baby Q with the 20lb tank set up and fired up in less than a minute packing it from the back area of the crew. The 8' hose is always connected to the Weber with a quick connect. There are lighter grills and bottles out there and but I carry the 20# bottle along as it is our spare.
We are on year 5 of the grill and use it almost every day when we are camping.
If you are driving by Coldstream, I have a copy of the go anywhere Weber grill sitting in my shed for the last 5 years gathering dust, the second one that I did not like. The first one rusted out and I had to hold it together with hay wire.I think it still works. It's free and light.
