My daughter was undergoing cancer surgery in another city and we were staying in town with her. Our credit card was cancelled and we had to move out of the hotel and had no money at all to eat on. It turned out that my niece had stolen the numbers and was going nuts with it buying all her friends and family members gifts.
Two years ago someone in Spain got ahold of the credit card numbers and charged a 700 dollar set of tires on it. We were travelling out west at the time and the credit union cancelled the card. It left me stranded until the credit card company sent me a new card.
We had the same problems with automatic payments. Sometimes it's hard to remember all the payments that are coming out. Some only come out once a year and you don't remember them until you loose your services.
