Got a deal on oil change

Sounds like a good deal for your oil change. Of course they do those deals to get you in and "upsell" more stuff to do you, but you know that and are ready for them.

My local independent repair garage is really good, and their "normal" oil and filter change is barely more than a nearby quicky lube.

Walmart and other discount places are not always the cheapest. People forget to shop around, they just assume some places are cheaper. The other stores / garages are competing for your business, so usually will price work competitively.
