So I've been looking for a grill for the last few months, but with all of the spending we did fixing the trailer I was weary of spending $150 for a new one. During this time I've been trolling Craigslist for a Coleman Roadtrip LXE (seemed to be the easiest to find and the lowest I could get one had been $75. Well last week someone had posted one for $25 that looked to be pretty beat up. Last night I was finally able to meet-up with the seller to pickup this well used, but surprisingly intact grill for $25. I've been cleaning it here and there all day, but it's getting there. I've honestly never seen a grill this dirty, but with some elbow grease I think this will serve us well for a long time. I'm starting to think the grease and ash have protected it in some way because it's starting to look good and I still have a ways to go.The bottom line is I love finding a good deal!!!

I have one like new to sell for $75. Might have to go lower it seems. DW and I don't like the way it cooks. The design of the grill basically fries everything rather than fire grilling the food. Can be difficult to control the temp as well. It is very convenient but difficult to clean. Ended up wrapping the inside with foil each use and that made clean-up a little easier.

We have the same grill and love it. You can purchase extra tops for it such as a griddle and a pot holder, which comes in quite handy. With this grill, we hardly ever cook inside the trailer unless it's really raining out.

I have the same thing hate it, it is the worst grill, cooks very uneven burns most everything. don't leave the bottle on it after cooking or you will most likely have no gas.

Talk about mixed reviews. People either love it :B or hate it! :o

We've had a Coleman Roadtrip LXE for about 5 years. It works great. I line the area below the grates with foil, and it cleans up easily. It does cook hot, and I keep it on low most of the time. It is a great grill, and we cook everything from tri tip, to burgers, to chicken, to steaks. We also have the ring to cook with pots and pans and the griddle. It is very versatile. Enjoy your grill!

We've gone to Green Mountains portable pellet grill. We love it. I'm left with a Weber Q used very little and a Black Top grill used even less. I might just give them away.

I got one for a birthday present in '05, We used it allot, took it camping all the time,, Works great still today,, only issue I have is cleaning that drip/water pan,, Also I rarely put water in the pan to catch grease,The Teflon has long worn off the pan,, I have tried aluminum foil to cover the pan and that lasts about one camp trip,, When it get s bad I use oven cleaner and scrub it,,Other than that we still use it,, at home as a convenience grill, Love the weber kettle.. Bought a Weber Go Any Where gas grill and store that in the trailer,,Good luck with the grill Coleman web site has all the parts available to rebuild!
Also,, The one I bought in '05 seems to be allot more heavy duty metal(blue) than the new red flimsy ones...

A friend was given a Roadtrip grill by his son last Summer. It sat by their front porch for a year unused until we stopped by in July and commented on how tall the grass was around the grill. He told me to load it up and take it home. We use it regularly at home and camping. I can't say it beats the good old Charcoal grill, but considering they had never even unfolded the stand or protected it from the weather, it's been a very good grill.

I've tried them all after hitting the road Full Time, and small, easy to store, grill and cook became my most important needs.

I ended up with these two.

This one for quick grilling.

AND this one for serious cooking days on the road of soups, stews and chili!

Both fold up flat as a computer and fit nicely in any of the bays.:C

We have one and have had real good luck with it, I guess from reading what others have to say there must be something wrong with ours...
My only complaint is cleaning it up after using it for an entire trip, sometimes all 3 meals are cooked on it. If I think about it before hand I will take the drip pan that normally has water in it and cover with aluminum foil, that makes cleanup MUCH easier.

Good score on the grill.

Yes, a coating of grease and ash will keep it somewhat preserved. Hit the problem areas with PAM before initial use.

I have many propane cooking appliances, among which is a small Coleman grill with ceramic coated cooking grates (smaller than the Roadtrip). It is the best appliance I have for certain foods (mostly sausages and hot dogs).
