We got one of those to use during our travels..........should have been around in 2007 cause I would have given it to you.
What a piece of junk.......probably OK for a gas grill at home or occasional outing to the camp ground.
Hated it, hated using it, hated cleaning it......gave it away just to be rid of it.
Bought a $20 14" Weber Kettle (Smokey Joe) in an ACE Hardware store in late 2007 and used it during our FT travel. Still have it but got a Big Boy Weber now.
Did I mention how much I hated that Coleman.....junk!
I don't get it. The OP posted that he's been looking for something he's wanted for a while and is happy he finally found it. Then along comes these posts...telling him it's junk and you hate what he just bought. How mean spirited can you possibly be? His post didn't say he was thinking about buying it and was soliciting opinions. He already bought it and along comes the "grill snobs" telling him it's junk. I'm not overly sensitive, but don't you think there is a time when you should keep your opinions to yourself?
Ha...it'll take a lot more than a few guys bashing my awesome new grill to bother me;) I appreciate the kind words though, thanks.
As for cleaning, it's certainly a pain in the butt. I've ripped it apart and it looks like the previous owner quit trying long ago. I have it as close to spotless as you can get a dirty old grill, but can see it'll be difficult to keep it this way.
I can also see how it wouldn't cook like a normal grill. The grates are almost 1/2 griddle & 1/2 grate. I'm not looking to win awards with this thing...just make uncooked food cooked away from home. I think I'll be able to live with this as my expectations are pretty low.
