Green NON-toxic RV Mattress

Yeah I read the story and then some research on the author. She is a sales force consultant and paid blogger. To summarize she is a paid mouthpiece for her clients undoubtedly pushing a mythical green everything initiative at a cost of course. Not sure how landfills work elsewhere but here in Florida there are multiple barriers to prevent those highly toxic RV mattresses from leaching into the soil and water

Presumably you're concerned about "off gassing". Airing any new article for a few days will get rid of any lingering, outgassable compounds that may have been trapped by packaging. Once the smell is gone, the VOC's are gone.

We all know that there are paid green shills & paid toxic-gick shills out there hocking products. And obviously, in the world we live in, everything comes "at a cost".
Landfills are notorious for leakage all over the country & the world. Let's not forget that there's virtually never a non-toxic barrier between between a toxic mattress and a sleeping body.
I grow much of my own food, never have to buy disposable razors because I straight razor shave with an antique straight razor, & do all sorts of things to consume & spend as little as possible. When I do consume, say on a new non-toxic mattress, I make sure to do a ton of product research, ask in the forums, etc to make sure I'm not getting a greenwashed product. I'm not prosthelytizing any lifestyle or product or trying to start some debate -just doin' some research before I spend a ton of close cuddly time with an object-, ... for me personally, I'd prefer not sleep on toxic gick.

Concern about my mattress being toxic gick is so far down my list of concerns, that if I made that list I would be harming the environment by wasting a lot of trees. Maybe you should buy an airbed. They are generally made of recycled plastic and full of air. Of course, they use electricity to run the air pump that keeps those recycled bladders full of dirty ole air, so you are adding a bunch of green house gases if you aren't careful where your electricity comes from. Good luck with the straight razor. I would be more concerned I would slit my throat with that then dying from mattress poisoning.

LOL, never knew a mattress could cause so much hostility! HAHAHA!
Of course I have a hierarchy of concerns as well, of which a mattress doesn't even come close to the top either.
My current electricity is 100% wind power sourced.
I've been straight razor shaving for over 2 years, haven't cut myself yet.

Green folks constantly worrying about the toxic things on earth, like mattresses, will die skinny, disconsolate, but oh so smart!

We will both be just as dead. I'll take fat,happy and stupid.

You can choose your own path. It is your right and I respect that.

If you are that worried, collect some burlap bags and fill with organic grown hay for a mattress.

Don't know about that 'green mattress'.......something I've never even giving a thought too.
Guess that mattress is non-toxic IF one is not allergic to latex.

WE threw out the OEM mattress and replaced ours with a Tempura-Pedic

What's worse? Using the semi-toxic (really?) mattress the RV came with, or throwing it out and replacing it with a non-toxic (really?) mattress? In either case, the first mattress was still manufactured and put into the environment. In the second case, that first mattress was wasted, and ANOTHER was also manufactured. Seems to me, one is "greener" in this case if one uses the mattress the trailer came with.

Just as one doesn't save money by buying something ("buy now and save!"), one doesn't reduce consumption and footprint by replacing items that get the job done.

There is a point where comfort enters into the equation, but if one's primary concern is reducing consumption and environmental footprint - see above.

Is your tow vehicle a Ford 7.3 Powerstroke? Why not a more eco friendly tow vehicle given the extremes your going to for a mattress and razor?
