Grey Tank not draining

One of my grey tanks is fill and does not drain after opening the valve. I have tried Drano and plunging to no avail. Any suggestions will be welcomed. Does any one know of or have ''wangensteened' a plunger for the outside drain fitting?
  • Use this with a hose to blow water up the drain line and dislodge the blockage.

Even if the cutout was left in the tank, you should still get a trickle. So that begs the question about whether the blade valve is truly moving. Do you have cable valves? Can you see the valve body? Do you have a clear adapter on your sewer pipe?

Not even a trickle is showing with valve open and cap and hose are off. The valve "works" are not visible, just the handle and shaft it is on.

  • Yes, both handles pulled. Tank one drains okay, black tank drains okay, tank two is the problem child.
  • The Alpine has 2 Grey tanks and the drain is common to both and the black. I blasting stream would have no direct path from "outside to inside" for this tank. As it is full, I think the drain is to diluted to work also.
  • Did you pull the handles for BOTH grey tanks? Some trailers have the second handle in front of or behind or between the wheels.
  • on a grey tank, it seems to me that the only thing that could plug it would be if the cutout piece was left in it? blast water back thru the drain opening????
