As foster parents we camp more than most. We love introduceing kids to camping, fishing, kayaking and the great outdoors. I understand people camp for different reasons with different perpectives. So often in the evenings we will sit at the table and play a board game or tell camp fire stories. Seems more this year we end up camping near someone who wants to play loud music or watch a movie outside with speakers super loud with no regard for others even way after quiet time. I aproach politely and does no good. Can't debate with drunks. This is super upsetting to kids who came out of drug and or alcohol abussive homes. It's just getting old. May put away the camper until after labor day. Any ideas on what can be done? Makes me sad more than grumpy

We don't have the kids, but have experienced the "LOUD". Especially bad on a big sports night.

Take pictures of vehicles, licence plates, people if you can zoom in and get clear shots. Take a video with the sound of the music and a shot of the time.Put the phone away safely, that's your insurance if things go sour. Report to authorities.

I do not know where you are camping but all of the State Parks we visit strictly enforce sound control and quite hours.

IMHO this sort of thing is worse at "RV parks" rather than state park and national park campgrounds. If possible, pick public locations in more rustic areas, and avoid holiday weekends.

Here in Wa.s State, if you can hear the sounds from another site then legally they're too loud.

Something just as bad is the folks that have a dog that barks incessantly and think their ankle biters are cute. Very aggravating...especially the owners that push their dogs around in a flipping stroller while allowing their precious pouch to yap all the while.

I look at outside speakers as just another point of entry for water to get under the filon and rot the frame and soak the insulation.

I don't even have a stereo in my unit. I have a portable multi band radio. More stuff you have, more stuff to fail.

I wanted to order my new 5th wheel without speakers on the outside, Keystone said no. They are cheap pieces of (carp), just another spot for water intrusion.

Carp is a fish but I'm ok with it anyway... The less holes (on the outside) the better.

are they trying to drowned out the yelling and hollering of the kids ?
some parks the kids drowned out normal conversation. not trying to flame the children just trying to see the other side.

We've stayed in 20+ parks so far this year, and I can truthfully say we haven't had a single bad experience so far. The last state park we stayed at over the 4th of July holiday, the site on one side had two grandparents with 5 grandchildren ranging from about 4 up to a teenager. All in all they were pretty quiet, even in the evening sitting around the campfire making s'mores. I did have to chuckle one time though, when the youngest let out a scream at one of the others over a toy, and I heard grandma shush him, telling him to "use your indoor scream". :)
