I bought a similar one also for the same reasons, cost was around $100, but the Pulsar 1200 1200 is a little quieter, 65 db claimed and has a slightly larger engine 72 cc vs 63 for the tailgator.

weights are the similar, as is appearance.
Have had no problems with a sawsall or my skillsaw, but it cant handle a resi refrigerator.
