Hatch sealing

Hi. Just bought our first travel trailer, used but in very good condition. One problem: the PO badly dented the aluminum flange behind the front pass-through hatch, where the weatherstripping is. I can easily repair it, but will ruin the (neoprene?) seal. Can anyone tell me where to get a new seal? Thanks.

  • Thanks! Looks like the dense foam weatherstripping will fit the bill.

If you know you'll have to replace the weather stripping I would snip off a little 1 or 2 inch piece and bring it with me. There's a ton of different moldings and finding exactly what you want is a challenge sometimes. But I think you'll luck out because most hatch openings are pretty basic.

Many styles from AP that your local Rv fix it guy can get. But be forewarned sometimes you can get it by the foot or might have to buy entire roll. Depends on how fast guy can get rid of it, but most don't want to tie up their $$$ selling by the foot when there is so many different types that could sit on his shelf for years. http://approducts.net/~approduc/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=47_48_49
  • Hi. Camping World sells a variety of seals. Check online.
