Have the Police stopped enforcing our traffic laws?

We stay off the crowded major interstates and travel more of the state routes. Much calmer - 55 mph and sometimes very little traffic. We are not on any time schedule so can travel at our leisure and stop whenever we want. We understand it's different if you have a set period of time off work for vacation, but the out of the way routes are probably safer.
