It seems reasonably if not customary is the rule. I've seen a cop ,with a pulled over motorist cause a ten mile backup with a resultant number of fender benders.
Some areas like Valdosta and Atlanta north area that is worked as a speed trap.
I16 because, of light traffic, on most, of it, the assigned Cops stop plenty of Motorists with no real reason as the road is wide open. Another make money for that county. Drive smooth and everything works fine. Jump in and out, of lanes and other nonsense like semis pulling out, in front, of motorists and creeping along at 65 or 68 causes a lot of backups, for miles and a lot of wrecks.
Around some areas the avg speed is near 100. No traffic and good road but when there is little traffic on the roads they work certain counties heavy. County screams we're losing money and all these speeders.
We stay off the Interstate here as most of the time, traffic is backed up from 5 to 20 miles and more. Semis cause the problems and most of the wrecks on about a fifty mile stretch here. Speed is not the problem, it is wreckless, without regard, to other people,on the road, by slow moving vehicles, semis, in the left lane.
I don't care how fast the traffic is. I'm under control and out of their way.
Atlanta you need to tak a tranqualizer it seems. As everyone wants to a different speed and be in your lane in front of you.
