Obviously, it is impossible to eliminate the risk of injury at ANY speed. Comparing a car from the 1980's or so, to one of 2014, you cannot convince me that crash protection isn't amazingly better in the new car.
A catastrophic crash in either car will result in injury for certain. But in the new car, the chances of survival are much better. Think about it..........

I agree that today's vehicles are safer, but they do not eliminate the risk of catastrophic injury or death experienced in high-speed collisions.
