You're getting free michiblows because you probably bought them at Sears. Otherwise if you did not get a good set the first time, you would never get them exchanged! I'm not a fan of BFG's, but they do seem to be better than michiblows from my experience! Since you have to choose tires from the Sears line up......well, I said my part not that it is worth anything.
If you want to look up Coopertire.com, they have a tire sidewall that shows where the date etc should be on ANY brand of tire. That is a NTHSA?!?!?! not sure if I go the right letters in order etc. but a federal standard tires sold in the US must follow.
