In California most weigh stations have a sign that says "No Pickups" like this:

However, the CVC defines a "pickup truck" among other things as having a GVWR under 11,500 pounds (and unladen under 8,001 pounds). So if your truck has 11,500 GVWR you are supposed to stop.
(And now you know why the F-350 option weight package is 11,400 pounds.)
