You're also wrong in Maryland- any truck over 10,000 GVWR are supposed to stop at weigh stations. Which means, riding around in my 1-ton pickup with a 12,300 lb. GVWR without my trailer, I'm supposed to stop. :E
I've emailed and talked to one of the highways guys via email and he confirmed it.
That said, I've never stopped in any state. In VA, I "sort of" stopped because I was headed to the truck rest area on the other side of the weigh station, but the official/sign directed me to bypass the weighing.
Well Im not going to pull into any weigh station. They are talking about commercial vehicles. I have seen the signs at a lot of weigh stations saying all trucks its for commercial truck not RV's.
