Just bought a new rig and am in the process of registering it via mail with the CA DMV. Sent all my paperwork to the main office in Sacramento to make sure everything was handled appropriately. Yesterday I received a denial letter because the person in the main office in Sacramento did not know the correct and applicable laws. I had to resend the same documentation only this time I am including a copy of the law. Point being to the op many beuracrats are unaware or misinformed about the law. We have traveled to Minn twice with a 20k gvwr vehicle and never stopped nor were cited because it is an RV not a commercial vehicle.
