Headlights when showing up late!

Why do campers keep there headlights pointed at other campers when they arrive after sun down? I can see that you are backing in,, but when you disconnect and level your trailer, Or set your tent up.....TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS OFF!!!! Really? Just experienced that Friday night..
Big camping weekend for some,, Campers started showing up late Friday after dark,, They find there site,,stare at it,size it up,discuss there backing in strategy, walk thru the procedure! All the time the truck or car is running, radio playing, kids running around,HEADLIGHTS blaring in other campers eyes!!! I am trying to enjoy a camp fire, have a cold drink and watch the madness!!
Use common sense!!! Shut the HEADLIGHTS off,,,,leave the parking lights on if you must!!! But if you see me putting my hand over my eyes it's because you are blinding us!!!!!
Then to leave your vehicle running with headlights on while you set up your tent or camper BEHIND the vehicle MAKES NO SENSE at all!!!
  • well for one thing my lights come on after it gets dark automatically. I am sure there is a way to turn them off by bypassing the system, I don't know how to do it. do you???
  • Glad I'm not as easily riled as you. You yourself said it was late, they are trying to set up and the kids are running around. OMG, could it be they are HUMAN and just forgot? Just grab a cold one and chill. If you are still fuming about it two days later you need to get a grip.
  • You described it well, "madness".

Unfortunately we do not live on a deserted island. We live in a community and in a community things happen. Sometimes you just gotta sit back. In your case, just be glad you were furtunate enough to arrive in daylight hours. If you arrived at night, I bet someone would be fussing about you too for desturbing their moment. Nothing worse than having a vehicle pull in (even without lights on) and all the comotion going on as they attempt to set up camp. Be careful, the shoe will be on the other foot someday!
  • So I assume you went over to the offending party and gave them the speech you just gave us? If not,why do it here? I don't camp near you.

Good point though. I have actually gone over and asked folks to turn their lights off. It usually works.
