Heads up near Bryce Canyon

As long as no one interferes with their "activities" bikers will go their own way. The Banditos, Hell's Angels, Mongols, among a few others have their own way of life and will not tolerate anyone having an affect on their manners of making income. If not familiar with these there are websites to educate. I worked with a number of bikers during my working days and they were out every weekend just riding for the joy of it.

There are many Motorcycle Clubs. Every weekend, slowed down for now, there are anywhere from a hundred to way on up Bikers through here.
Some of them have an escort, that directs them, stops at RR crossings, I don't know why, and then gets back in front etc.There are more than a couple of Clubs, in a nearby city, made up of Professionals and the like. They do their darndest to come off as bad asses. All it takes is a case or two, of booze and one to act the character and others join in.
Most of the Clubs are simply into touring or sight seeking. Lynchburg is crowded with Bikers most weekends and other times. Some times the Hells Angels types do show up but I've heard of no problems but I'm not trying to keep track. Many of Friends and Neighbors ride and they wouldn't think of wearing notorious HC and other colors. You have to think if they wear the garb they want to be perceived that way and may act that way. We stay away from those wanting to be perceived as "bad."

the Kennedy Meadows i know is off nine mile canyon rd, which is off hw395 , is that the one, on the bank of kern which is nothing but a creek
haven't been up there in about 15 yrs
used to go several times a summer, my son caught his first trout up there

Hi, The above is mostly true. Some friends and I were camped in the overflow in Kennedy Meadows camped right next to the Mongels (sp?) and they were not only quiet (well except for the Harleys :) ) but also very respectful. We were concerned at first but when the ranger came through he told us that they do not bother anybody and once they leave it is one of the cleanest camps around.

Show respect, get respect.... thats it.

There may be a proffesional or two in the ranks of the Banditos but, for the most part, they are not out there to benefit humanity.
Left to themselves, there won't be much aggressive or violent behavior. If you're not a member and aren't there, there won't be any directed at you.

Kind of an interesting outlook tho, eh...something out of the ordinary and some folks run for hills. Rather than embracing an opportunity to learn something, they spread the fears. I get it, if folks don't want to mingle, but...well, no, in fact, I don't get it.

I am not familiar with the group you mentioned, but most 'gangs' are made up of average everyday people, drs, lawyers, plumbers, and bankers. As with every group there is always some that want to be a bad a$$.

If they're staying around Duck Creek they'll be well supervised by the many fine 'officers' there! .. and he holiday will be over soon......

I'm not a gang member, but I am a rider (though motorcycleless at the moment.. :( ) The advice I would give is if you are afraid, leave or don't go there. If you are not afraid or worried, then hang out and maybe just be yourself and be friendly, but not aggressive. Just like you would do with a "gang" of campers or teenagers, or old people, or, or, or. :)

The noise from all those bikes coming and going in a campground could be a major deterrent for many though, including me!
