Really - why are insurance companies and large healthcare companies predicting this will be the most profitable year in their history. That they will actually make more profits than the oil companies.
The insurance companies wrote most of the two laws which make up this new program.
Shifting costs is nothing new in the US. Your last doctor visit or hospital stay included costs to cover the uninsured people who never pay.
The taxpayers and the insured people in the United States overpay by billions of dollars per year to provide medical care to the uninsured - just in a more hidden fashion.
