Took most of the survey but stopped when you started asking too many questions about me. And, when I tried to skip over questions that were not, in my opinion, pertinent to your asking of the RV rental questions... it would not let me skip questions. Anonymous? Really? Data mining is, in the end, FAR from anonymous.
But, just in case you're legitimatly wanting the RV related opinion, here's mine:
Systems are way too complicated to hand over to a newby. Unlike AirBnB where the most complicated aspect of a property is a thermostat, RVs require underlying systems like generators, batteries, solar, etc that must be properly understood and used before even touching the thermostat. An AirBnB unit also does not move down a freeway. HUGE difference. It is very unlikely an insurer of an RV would cover anything while outside the possession of the owner. Yes... there are rental companies that already do rent RVs but these are (usually) dealers and mechanics who are already in the business of owning, maintaining and commercially insuring RVs.
Bottom line: No way will my motor home ever be rented (or even loaned to a relative). In my opinion, any private owner who would is not likely understanding the RV intricacies and, for that reason, is probably not offering a trouble-free RV for rent... which means you, as the middle-man, will have problems.
