- tegu69ExplorerI was wondering if anybody takes the time to read the policies from the different companies. From my policy with Nat. Gen.: What types of affiliates and non-affiliated third parties do we share information about you with?
Financial service providers, such as, credit card issuers insurance companies and insurance agents. Non-financial companies, such as credit reporting agencies, manufactures, motor vehicle dealers, retailers, direct marketers, telecommunications companies, airlines and publishers. (it goes on) All I wanted was insurance, not my info going out all over. - Pine5008ExplorerAs trackrig stated, "bundling" will usually keep costs down. With Metlife, thru an independent agent, I get a multi-unit discount (home, cars, trailer).

My insurance is expiring Oct. 1st. The premium is $744 annual with Progressive. $500 deductable and a $30000 agreeded value. Sure seems high. Who do you recommend? Good Sam? Alstate?
Any help appreciated.
if you're not fulltiming it would be worth your time to get a quote from state farm. - chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
If you are a Veteran are have a family member that is a veteran I would highly suggest looking in to USAA. They insure our motor vehicles and even though our Fulltime 5er is insured with Progressive we still go through USAA for a better rate. I have spoke with insurance agents and they all agree they can not beat USAA rates.

If you're not full timing it, the first people I'd check is who you have the house, cars, and other things insured through. "Usually" including it in with everything else is cheapest.

that is where I have mine also. Have you given your current company a shot? - dhustExplorerI had State Farm for years. Only had 1 claim and they were very quick and fair in the coverage. This Spring they decided they didn't want me anymore, so I had to shop around. Progressive was the cheapest with the best coverage for me. Now, for what I was paying with State Farm, I have much more coverage (things like trip interruption, and paying for a motel if we are on a trip and have problems) for the same price with Progressive.

Insurance premiums depend upon what is insured and the amount insured. Full replacement cost for motorhome, full coverage for broken glass, full replacement for awnings, 1/2 million dollar liability, 1,000 dollar deductible, estimated value of personal contents, uninsured and underinsured coverage, etc.
Compare apples with apples and not apples to oranges to get an accurate comparison of cost. I find that different insurance plans do not cover the exact same as another insurance company.
This is the biggest deal when you compare, make sure same coverage including deductibles. When we shopped a year or so back no one touched or Progressive policy for coverage and most were not more than $250 a year less in cost, but we would lose our $103000 coverage and vanishing deductible had brought our effective deductible to $0.00 but our rates are figured at $1000 ded.
As others have stated many variables including your state insurance laws, where you live, where the RV is kept when not used along with driving record.
