We have a 34' vlite rv by flagstaff. We just bought a 2014 Ram 2500 4x4, which sits extremely tall compared to our previous 4x2.
I'm thinking we will need a taller shank.
Also, I'm anticipating the purchase of a new equalizer 1200 hitch.
Anyone using this combination or have any ideas regarding shank height??
Can a non equalizer shank be used with an Equalizer hitch??
Thanks
I assume your Ram 4X4, like mine, has a factory Class 5 hitch installed. I cant see why you would need to spend the money on the equalizer hitch. I;d try towing it a goodly distance properly loaded first and see how it goes. That trailer should have very little effect on your truck.
Hitch it up and measure the amount of squat you get. My guess is it will be minimal.
