Hot water down cold drains?

Anybody else wonder about this. I'm full timing right now until I close on my new home in southern PA. It's getting pretty cold at night. I keep wondering if putting fairly hot water down my drains might cause a crack or some glue failure somewhere.

Any thoughts?

  • Assuming abs or pvc drain material, not very likely, It is hard to bust that stuff when you try to do it.

We pump hot water down frozen pipes at minus -40c to unblock them and have never had issues.
