IMO your type of post actually again IMO a disservice to those reading it. Unless you're a Judge your opinion on what level of negligence might result in claim denial is just that YOUR OPINION and not any more valid than any other layman's opinion. HERE is just one example of a discussion of this issue and my read is it's one of those "IT ALL DEPENDS" type scenarios.
Again IMO it's so easy for this issue to never become an issue it amazes me that folks continually push the envelope needlessly.

No need to take my word for it. Just read your auto insurance policy. Does it say they can deny coverage for "negligence", does it say they can deny coverage for "gross negligence", does it say they can deny coverage for being overweight? The exclusions are all right there in the policy. Everyone can read them and determine for themselves.
