How can WE control what we see?

I appreciate you guys who have commented. I remind myself how pathetic a person must be to come on a hobby forum and make up stuff to brag about. It's sad but still annoying. Like a demented guy hollering on a street corner. You feel sorry for him but really wish someone would cart him off to somewhere else. I think the Block feature will work for now. These guys usually self destruct pretty quickly once they realize folks don't take them seriously. And yes, you fellows who can stomach the threads continue to give the perp a poke to hasten his demise!

If it were just us regular geniuses discussing Walmart,Dually trucks, tow ratings and ST tires all the time the forum would get pretty boring.
Luckily we have a few more enlightened members to keep things lively

There are a few members here that "look down there noses" at everyone else. They have made me mad at times. I didn't need to block them. I just quickly scan their posts and move on.

I have to keep reminding myself that if I let them bother me then that is my problem. The best way is to just ignore them and move on. It is not easy for me but, it is still most mature way to handle people like that.

As I see it, it takes all kinds of people to keep life interesting. If a thread doesn't interest me, I don't read it. If a thread that I am interested in takes a peculiar turn, I will skim those transient responses and hope that it gets back on track sometime. I've found that blocking someone just keeps me unblocking to see what I missed, so I don't do it any more.

You could also just ignore the post by a particular member. This way you would still see the topic and it just might be of interest to you. I have many that I just ignore but none are blocked.

Sometimes the topic line sparks an interest. I read the opening post and then the last post to see how the post has evolved. If it's way off topic (political, guns) then I ignore it completely after that.

I couldn't agree More. Sometimes I surf just looking for the threads that got way out of control, just to read the banter. lol :W

Not really. It is also useful for reducing the intrusion of someone who has a personal ax to grind and follows you around in every thread that you participate in making nasty comments and threats.

Saying "just ignore it" is good advice......but some of us are weak and others can take just so much.

I do NOT believe that blocking an individual will block entire threads.

Oh, now I understand why no one ever comments or replies to any of my posts....I've been blocked by everyone including my own wife......:E
