How can WE control what we see?

Easy enough to ignore anyone or any topic that rattles ones cage. It is just a forum. Whatever is said today is forgotten in a couple of days when the topic dies.

Sometimes people are just a- holes, whether in person or online. If I can tell they aren't someone I would want to be around, or they don't have knowledge I find useful, I prefer to not waste my time. The block makes that easier.

There are times I will type out an answer to a post (which I always re read before I post) and decide it is not being helpful to the thread and nothing more than a stone thrown back.
I like the ones that start out asking a question and then when given a good answer they will tell the respondent "you are wrong".

I agree and that is what gets posts deleted or edited on the forums I moderate!

I agree and very well put. Thoughtful too. Not as much of that here as needed IMO.

Of course there is an elephant in the room and that would be me. But I am not responding to the OP here...

But consider this, I find much more "bloviating" done by a few professional antagonists that do nothing but criticize posts no matter what the content.

It is these respondents that usually send a thread off the tracks.

Why if you dont agree with a post just say so in logical thoughtful terms and keep it impersonal? Too often some on this site have descended into real name calling and schoolyard tactics. That's a shame.

I take what people write here at face value. I give them the benefit of the doubt that they are what they say they are and in my view that is the only reasonable approach since no one can know for sure. And why would anyone waste their time lying about themselves? To what end? Just to be bashed here by people unwilling to keep a cool head or those that just can't encompass differences?

I don't believe in Blocking. It cuts off communication. Sadly what passes on this site at time as communication is just one liner jabs, lists of emoticons and snarky comments. At times it gets even uglier.

I have been the object of considerable downright hateful comments over a post of mine or two. There are about 3 who have really gone out of their way at times to try to provoke me. I remain civil in my responses (if pointed at times)and I think this infuriates those folks even more.

If you don't agree with a post pass it by or leave a thoughtful comment. Or engage fully in a civil way. But why complain about them?

sam spade blocking someone does not block someone from seeing you posts nor replying to them. It only blocks you from viewing the reply.
I have found that more often than not, the ones doing the blocking are the ones that offend others the most and refuse to accept the replies when they are corrected, or admonished for being offensive, such as calling someone stupid, moron, idiot, or any number of names.

Like some have already commented, I do not block anyone. I generally cruise this forum daily and while I do shake my head sometimes at the terse replies and the proverbial know it all's I generally do not get involved even if the replies are directed to one of my threads. It really does no good to get all worked up.

I LMAO on a lot of members postings every time I read them, and that's usually very often!

I can choose which posts I want to read or not, and I know the members that cause me a lot of entertainment or not..

I'm sure I'm one of them myself to other members... I've been here a long time and have posted my share of "opinions"... ;)

Anyway, do what you need to do to enjoy this site.. RVing is a very subjective thing and not everyone does it the same way "you" do..
