How do you secure your bikes while camping?

Our family just upgraded from Walmart bikes to new better quality bikes that we will take camping. I am a little concerned about the bikes getting stolen from the campsite, this has happened to people we know. I am looking for ideas to secure our bikes, any ideas are appreciated.

  • Cable lock to the tongue. Keep the cable short as possible and off the ground. Excess length and/or lying on the ground makes it easier to cut.
  • I'm probably too trusting. At night, we just park them behind the coach. If we leave, we are usually on our bikes.
  • This was covered a few days ago, but I use a cable purchased at Home Depot and lace it through the bike frame and both wheels then lock it to the bike rack. The bike rack is locked to the MH trailer receiver. The bike rack has two separate lock also. If someone was to try to take it I hope that I would be able to hear it on the other side of the wall. I don't think anything I do could stop someone from taking it if they want it, but it can slow them down some. When the cable is not being used for the bikes it is used to lock the wheels on the tow dolly together. JMO
  • Mostly like anywhere else. Cable lock with a Kryponite bike lock. We have a fifth wheel so put them under the overhang and cable them around the landing Jack.
