How does TV bed cargo weight affect tongue weight

The weight of the passengers, any cargo in the truck and the tongue weight of the trailer all count against payload rating. Cargo weight and tongue weight are separate weights but tongue weight is subtracted from payload rating.

Max payload minus tongue weight = available payload for passengers/gear.

Sounds like you may need a weight distribution hitch to prevent too little weight on the front axle and too much on the rear axle.
