From an engineer to an engineer, yes being paranoid about a poor "get by" design and/or cheaply constructed of iffy materials is of extreme importance as we know the real difference. To do it right usually only costs a small percentage more but will NOT be done (happen) if it's not in the budget for a product niche level with the direct competition. Profit is NOT a dirty word, it's a requirement! Quality is is NOT an automatic, it's designed and built in and has a cost! You never have to make excuses for things done right but there's never enough excuses for things done less than right!
