We went from a B to a C with no slides intentionally. We are outside most of the time and our floor plan we have is perfect for us. Our C is fully packed and with tanks full we have around 2,000 lbs. of cargo capacity left and can tow up to 5,000 pounds. If we had a couple of slides that would not be the case. If we were full timers I might consider them but for camping and traveling the added weight of the slides is really are not necessary or worth it for us.
When shopping we noticed there are a lot of Cs out there with slides that are at or near cargo carrying capacity without adding passengers, fuel, water, and gear. Our C with no slides handles better than the B we had. I'm betting it's mostly due to not being near capacity of the chassis.
