I replaced the magnets on my trailer and the braking was unbelievable after that! When I first bought my trailer I felt the braking was insufficient, but it was much bigger than my previous trailer so I thought it may be just the way it is. after towing it for a year or 2 it slowly got worse. I also did some testing on the brake controller, wiring, 7-way connector, brake shoes and adjustments...everything checked out OK. then I finally replaced all 4 magnets........unbelievable how much better it stopped. before the magnet replacement the trailer would barely brake at all. afterwards the trailer alone would stop itself and the X without problems. so for me I had faulty brake magnets from day one.
