If the moisture is trapped inside the walls it could take a long time to dissipate and cause a lot of damage. If it were my rig and an inspection of the wall did not show any soft spots I would try to find an inconspicuous area at the top and bottom of the wall and cut holes where you could circulate air using a fan and possibly some duct work. After the moisture meter showed it was dry I would either buy or rent an ozone generator and circulate ozone through the same holes to kill mold and mildew.
