I posed the 30-year mortgage scenario mainly as a means to show that one could pay $12,000 more for a house with RV parking for the same monthly cost as a cheaper house without and a monthly storage fee.
I spent about $2000 eight years ago to pour a concrete pad, plumb a sewer dump and wire in 30-amp service. Storage for the same time period would have been almost $6,000. Convenience and peace of mind--priceless.
You purchased a home because you did not want to pay rent. You bought the RV because you did not want to rent one every time you wanted to use it. You have to decide if it is worth renting an RV space or own it? Rent the space and your money is gone, nothing in return except a place you had to park the RV. Buy the land/house that has the room to store the RV and it becomes part of the home ownership equation. The home might even appreciate and be worth more to someone in thirty years. The RV space rental will always just be spending money to store it. To me there is no issue to decide.
