My take as a home owner with no room to park an RV but I do have a couple boats at home. What a pain, any time I want to work on the RV I have to go get it from storage and park it in front of the house then work around it hoping the idiots racing up and down the residential street don't hit my RV or me. If I want to work on my boats I just wander out back and do what I want to.
Getting ready for a trip means a night or two before the trip I pick up the RV after work and bring it home then unhook trailer so I have the rig to go to work. Ya my neighbors don't know I'm headed out for a trip because the trailer is gone, they know I'm leaving by watching me pack loads of clothes and food out the front door to the trailer. Coming home I get to unload the trailer, tow it to work the first morning then take the trailer back to storage when it opens.
My trailer storage is at an RV and trailer repair shop so the storage area is only open during store hours which is a little pain but its $25 + cheaper a month then anything else so its worth the added pain. I pay $25 a month, next cheapest place is $50.
Storage is a pain but its not worth doubling my house payment to get it so for right now I just deal with it and complain a little.
