When we were looking for a house or a place to build, our firm requirement is that we could build an RV garage or a shelter for the RV. I do not like storing the RV outside and covers are too much of a pain since we go on a trip at least once per month. We found a very nice development that allowed the building of an RV garage so the RV is safely inside when we are not using it. I also like that no one can see when we are packing up for a trip.
We have CC&Rs in our neighborhood but RV garages are allowed. You can also park the RV/boat/etc on the side of the house. And it is a very nice neighborhood with many houses over $500K to over 1 million. One thing that brought many people here was the ability to build garages for their toys. There are lots of RVs, boats and ATVs in the neighborhood.
I do not know exactly how much extra we paid for the RV garage but it was somewhere around $20K.
