How to access back of Jensen DVD player?

So the RCA connectors broke inside my TV (due to the angle) and I have now to replace the cable. How do I access the back of my Jensen DVD player?

If I remove the square plastic from the top I noticed it has 4 screws on each corner. I'm assuming I can just unscrew them and it'll move out?

The other thing I still have to figure out is how to remove the plug pins that broke inside my TV female RCA connectors...

After that, I'll have a square connector so they don't break anymore.

Thanks!

  • Thanks. Interesting, the nose plier is US$24. The 14" TV was US$100 when I bought. I can't find US$100 TVs anymore though...
  • Actually, you won't have to catch it. About 80% of it is sitting behind the front of the cabinet it is mounted in. just took mine loose today to replace the fuse in the back of it. I'm going to bet that the cables are routed though a chase or the ceiling between the radio and the TV. If you get your new cables and tape them to the old ones, after a few wire ties being clipped, you should be able to pull the new cables to the radio from the TV.

As for removing the pins, I'd try needle nose plier or a pair of hemostats, if you have any from the old days ;-)
  • Yes you can just take out the four screws. Be ready to catch it when you get the last screw out.

I've been thinking about pins maybe something sticky on the end of a paper clip, I don't really know. It may be easier to push them from the inside but then that means getting to the inside which opens up another can of worms. I wish you the best.
