So. A little background.Some dummy (insert my name here) decided to boondock his (80's model) 5th wheel, block it up...then had the brilliant idea of removing the wheels.Then this same dummy built a 30 foot porch/extra room/etc on one side...close enough that it's impossible to get the wheels back on that side.Is there such a thing as a "car dolly" for travel trailers? It doesn't need to be moved far on the dolly, just far enough out that we can get the wheels on it.Thoughts? And yes, I know the first thought will be "what a dumbass".

I was thinking something along the lines of the "wheel dolly" that tow-truck drivers put under the back end of some vehicles when they have to tow-hook them.Had hoped a (upsized version) existed for larger things (like semis, rv's, etc)

Drop the axles mount the tires while the axles are under it then roll back into place you might have to jack the trailer up and block it higher

Always has to be one in every bunch.

Answer: Because the value of the porch is something on the order of 3x that of the RV...in materials cost alone.

Also because "something else" will be taking the RV's place. Currently leaning toward a "tiny house", but that's as yet to be determined. So there's a good chance the porch and "redneck atrium", AKA the utility/laundry/etc room...will be just as useful in the new configuration.

mobile home .. park model.. moving companies..

have special frame dollies... jack up unit.. back frame dolly under, lower trailer.. and drive away...

just seen it done last week at this campground.. done all the time.
most of the time spent.. disconnecting out-buildings, electric, water, sewer.

To drop the axle, you just need to unbolt the springs from the FW frame and leave the axle connected. If that does not give you enough room, you may be able to jack up that side of the porch to get the wheels in place.

Place concrete pavers under the trailer axles. Put 2 floor jacks on the pavers parallel with the axles and lift the trailer. Push or pull trailer sideways rolling the floor jacks on the pavers. Might have to do it a few times to get enough space.

Just remove one axle, since you only need to move it a few feet.
