How to sleep four in a trailer for two?

We have what we consider a "couple's" trailer. Our 25 footer has a front queen, a back bath, and a dinette and two small recliners in one large slide. For one weekend, we'd like another couple to join us, but I need ideas on the sleeping arrangements. I know the dinette converted to a bed is hardly wide and long enough for two adults. While we could certainly split our couple up and have one on a single air mattress on the floor, I'm just curious, has anyone rotated your guests 90 degrees on the dinette, with pillows against the wall, and added bed length at the foot? If so, how did you accomplish this?

  • I'm beginning to think that modifying the dinette is out, and using up all the floor space with a queen air mattress is the way to go.

I'm old enough to know that you are absolutely right!
  • Take a tent. Or put the dinette down, add some sort of support for use at right angles.
  • I never tried this but with boonsfarm and weed you can sleep 5 or 6 on a double bed.
  • We have a 37' fifth wheel that sleeps TWO. It has a sofa bed air mattress that will never come out of the box. If friends want to come then they can get a room in a hotel nearby.
  • That dinette is 46x74 which is between the old standard single 36x74 and double 54x74. so while snug, if they arent large folks it may suffice. If you really want more space moving the recliners to allow an air mattress or to put the cushions on the floor there and then just adding a small air mattress at the bottom could work.
  • You could get a blow up air mattress if you have enough floor space. Would be a lot more comfortable then the dinette. Some places have cabins for rent as well, this is what I do at the seasonal.
