Thanks for all the replies, folks!
The consensus seems to be these absorbent types are more for storage, and small enclosed areas. My camper is only about 500 cu. ft., and although it's not technically an enclosed space, it does require humidity control, just the same. And I'm not convinced these absorbers would know the difference? But realizing they are limited in their capacity to absorb moisture, I would only consider going with two, maybe even three units.
I was wondering if there was any associated odor given off? That would certainly be undesirable. (One poster mentioned that). And there is definitely the 'spill factor' to consider. On the other hand, the renewable eva-dry types need to be plugged in to dry out the crystals, and that could be an issue, seeing as I boondock continually.
So it may come down to how smelly the DampRid / DryZAir types can get. Is this a legitimate concern if the camper is well ventilated, or only if the camper is kept closed up for weeks at a time?
DriZair's have no odor at all - it's basically a form of salt.
The only draw back is it is corrosive so don't dump it in a SS sink or it will mark it.
