Shock Absorbers

This why I liked the Rancho adjustable shocks. They were less expensive than going with King or some other high end model, but allowed the owner to adjust them. Once I had mine tuned to my setup, I did not change them unless I knew I was going to drive the truck unloaded for an extended period (not common for me).

When one considers that apparently modern OEM engineering computer selects different springs depending on equipment and what not within the same vehicle models - F350's apparently can have different springs - one wonders how off the shelf gas shocks can "automatically" be better than the shock spec'd by the OEM engineer? Or do the aftermarket suppliers custom make shocks based on your VIN?


Those King tunable shocks look pretty good.

I swapped out my shocks when I went to the heavier 19.5" wheels. The OEM Ford shocks still damped the compression stroke after 100k miles but did nothing on rebound.

Monroe sumpin sumpins... they are painted black not rust peckered and leaking oil like the OEM Ford ones I took off at 100,000 miles. Yup they are damping the wagon springs on the backa the 3 fitty.

Like having Rancho 9000 on all 4 wheels on my F350 SRW with an in-cab controller.
