I use the DampRid product and it is fantastic. I periodically dump out a couple cups of water from the base unit. The starter pack of two packets lasted me a year. 4 replacement packets, enough for two cycles, costs $7. When the packet media is gone it is time to put in a new packet. Could not be simpler, or cheaper, or more effective.
