Hunkered down in the Florida Panhandle

The state parks in the Florida Panhandle seem to be having a boom as folks who had planned to go northwest are waiting out the weather. Ochlockonee River SP was full again last night and we heard Falling Waters was full too. That is for a Tuesday night in February? Rigs on both sides of us had planned to go west on I-40 but are using I-10 instead. We had planned to head to our home in western NC this week but are staying put. We have had beautiful weather until this morning. It is raining, thundering, and in the 50's. Great forecast for the weekend though! Stay warm and safe everyone. lizzie
  • We are just now getting the lead edge of the front of the storms just NW of Ocala. Weird to hear thunder in Florida. They are predicting freezing temps here again for this weekend. Sure has not been nice here the past 2 months. :(
  • My mother-in-law near Black Mountain has 3 inches on the ground and it's snowing hard now. You're better off right where you are! Hope Butch's back is better.
  • Lizzie, here in Murphy, we have about 1& 1/2 inch of snow, temp about 34. Sky
