I-75 and Love Bugs

Usually get real bad in the middle of May and than again in Sept. I'll be heading to FW on the 10th so I am expecting to have a smelly mess on my hands when I arrive.

My neighbor just got home from a business trip to Tampa. Said the love bugs were bad but not the worse he has seen.

Appreciate the replies. Looks like they are getting worse, May is one of their worst months I hear, so I will have the bucket and brush ready.

Around here we get the Chinese Lady Beatles. They haven't been that bad that last couple of years. Otherwise we just get the normal bug mix.

Never heard of em before today. I know, what rock am I living under? :) Always learning stuff around here. They sound worse than our mayflies coming from Lake Erie.

We live in Sebring. Made just a short trip, Friday to Sunday, to Wauchula. No bugs on Friday, got covered up yesterday. After 2 hrs. of scrubbing they are gone from the TV and TT. They were especially fragrant yesterday afternoon in the 92 degree heat.

Not bad yet...but should be getting bad soon. Try REJEX on your front cap. Seems to be working for me. Love bugs are very acidic and will eat your cap decals.

Nor sure how far west you are heading. In Louisiana they haven't really come out yet. Normally they start getting bad in mid May.

I ran into a bunch on I-75 just north of Ft. Myers on Saturday. Made a mess of the front of the coach.

Use a dampened dryer sheet and wash the area, the bugs will come right off, does not hurt the finish. Sheet will leave a little milky residue on the paint, but a sponge will remove that, then follow up with spray Megquires detailer.
