I should get the Darwin award

I should get the Darwin award for DUMB :S This spring we got a new Gray Wolf 26BH. Since we've got it I have questioned the performance of the fridge. It would always struggle to maintain 40 degrees. I was going to call the dealer and the DW and I was discussing it this week and she mentioned I wonder if our thermometer was accurate :S Dumb me It truthfully didn't even cross my mind that it could be bad. It was several years old. Anyway I got the one that I have in our fridge and thought okay lets check it out. Well when I went out to check on it about an hour later the temp in the fridge is hovering right at 34. I went out and got a new one and it's exactly like the one from the house, 34 degrees. :S I truthfully never even thought about the thermometer being wrong.

    On the Darwin Award website the only people that get the award are dead. We are so glad you aren't dead and still posting.

    You must have a "winter" thermometer! Save it for the cold weather.

    Excellent point beemerphilel. Now the question to be answered is generally how long do the thermometer's last, LOL

    I drink beer. And my beer thermometer (mouth and tongue) are usually pretty accurate. I can tell when the fridge is off a couple degrees. Works with Milk too. It's just that I drink more beer.

    Not sure you are a Darwin candidate. But ask your wife. Sounds like she is the brains of the family. That said you are smarter. And I can prove it.

    I use this on my wife all the time. It is one time she agrees with me. But she hates to admit it.

    Ice cream does not freeze hard till about 0 degrees. And I know its a dirty job but some has to eat a Klondike Bar at night to make sure the freezer is working good.

    Years ago, I had a deep freeze plugged into a GFCI outlet in the garage. Suddenly, it started tripping the GFCI, regularly, a LOT. Well, I figured that the deep freeze was old and was going bad so I went out and bought a brand spanking new deep freeze. Plugged it in, and, yep, you guessed it, it started tripping the GFCI. I replaced the GFCI outlet, and it never tripped again. That was a VERY expensive lesson.
