- IvylogExplorer IIII would keep what I have or maybe buy another a couple years newer and we are already half timers. I would only buy a ticket in a state where you do not have to be identified. See how long even your friends do not know you won. Give most of it away to good charities so Uncle Sam does not get as much of it. Probably end up regretting you bought the winning ticket as I've never bought one.
Set up a trust that requires heirs to pass a test at 20 on the book "The Millionaire Next Door". Starts paying after the age of 35 in proportion to how much they made from 30 to 35 with some exceptions if they are say a school teacher. Too much money to soon has ruined may a person.
*Yes I've already won the lottery by marrying a frugal wonderful woman 47 years ago and yes my kids had to read "The Millionaire Next Door" and they are now over 35.
Having thought about this some more... I would trade in the single engine Cessna on one of these. - cbshoestringExplorer IIThe wife and I play this game...
For us that money would mean retirement, and retirement would mean full time rving. As much as I like my current TV/TT there would be an upgrade involved. Vacationing is one thing, full time would require some more room. That means a 5er and a big ol' diesel burning dually.
I would love to help the average joe that is working his tail off, and just trying to do the right thing. I know it is not PC to say, but we would help that traditional family, who got married, then had kids, and are now just getting by. We see them all the time in GC. They use that weeks vacation for family time in whatever they can afford to get them to the GC. They don't have their hand out, are not expecting money for doing nothing....average folks doing average things.
Wouldn't it be cool to see that carpenter with the worn out truck, pulling that used pop-up, with three kids in tow....and go buy him a new truck and new pop-up :E
How about that guy who can't afford to fix his own run down mobile home..yet he gladly gives his time (he has no money to give) when someone needs a car repaired, or the old lady needs her gutters cleaned, etc... Try to hand him a couple bucks and he won't take it...he didn't do it for the money, he did it because they needed the help.
Be nice to bulldose the mobile home....slide a new one into its place.
Would NOT give a nickel to someone with their hand out, but may throw a hundred or two in the guitar case of the guy atleast trying to entertain me for my money. Thousand dollar tip for that server at Cracker Barrel....you get the idea.
We would travel the country and smile every time we could do a random act of kindness. - colliehaulerExplorer III

Nothing different. I have a great truck and a great trailer, no need to change them for anything. I'd just go camping more often. I'd go insane if I did not have a job of some sort though. I'm one of those "old school" people that has to be employed somewhere. Might be a great opportunity to be a camp host for a while.
About "family and friends?" Well, here's my opinion about that.... if they don't have need of me right now... they definitely will not have any of my need then. I'll remember "those" that helped me and were kind to me and held me up during tough times. The rest are on their own.
My family and friends are (those) that helped me and were kind to me and held me up during tough times. Agree others could pound sand.
A stop by the Newell plant in Oklahoma would be in order as well. - FULLTIMEWANABEExplorer1) Find out how best to invest and preserve it for the best use possible to benefit many for several generations going forward.
2) Let hubby get that darn Entegra DP he keeps on about
3) Set Up Direct To End User Need Charitable Donations - I have many causes I want to support but not by sending to established charities with high paid executives, but setting up our own where the dollars go all the way to the cause/need..
4) Cherish The Miles Of Smiles Of What Doing The Right Things For The Right People Would Generate.
I guess it would help if I bought a ticket eh? - DutchmenSportExplorerNothing different. I have a great truck and a great trailer, no need to change them for anything. I'd just go camping more often. - fireman93514ExplorerEvery time we go to visit our daughter we go through Coburg Or. Right by the Marathon plant. There are always a few high dollar MH's out front. I could live with it.
