If you tow 100kmiles per year, you can get similar savings. For the typical RV that does 2-4k miles per year...not so much.
Of course, a lot of these assumptions are based around local delivery trucks, not long haul trucking. If you camp almost exclusively within 100miles of home, it's viable, if you want to take a cross country trip the situation changes.
