Since I froze my credit at all three bureaus a year ago I have absolutely no concerns about identity theft. Even I cannot apply for credit without thawing my credit let alone anyone else steal my identity. To thaw my credit only takes a few minutes online but you have to have the magic number which is not my social security number.

The government demanded health insurance companies stop using SS# as identifier some years back but continued to use it themselves. That has now changed and will be phased in over the next few years.
